About the role
The Payroll Administrator will independently manage end‑to‑end payroll processes. This includes accurate salary calculations, handling employee queries and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. EY provides a supportive environment for professional growth.
Key responsibilities
- Process all salary inputs accurately, including new engagements, terminations, medical aid changes and overtime.
- Upload salary payments to Standard Bank for electronic funds transfer.
- Process third‑party payments such as medical aid and provident fund contributions.
- Handle payroll queries from staff at all levels and explain tax deductions and calculations.
- Prepare and reconcile salary clearing accounts, providing valid reasons for any outstanding entries.
- Assist the Payroll Manager with miscellaneous payroll items.
Required profile
- Relevant qualification in payroll or related field.
- 5–8 years’ experience in payroll administration.
- Effective handling of SARS IRP5 reconciliations.
- Experience with VIP People Payroll system is advantageous.
Required skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Report writing ability.
