Senior Lecturer / Professor in Industrial Psychology (2 positions)

About the role

The University of the Free State invites applications for two senior academic positions (Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor or Professor) in the Department of Industrial Psychology. The role combines teaching, research, supervision and academic leadership within the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management modules to undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts.
• Conduct high‑quality research, publish in accredited journals and contribute to the faculty’s research strategy.
• Supervise Honours, Master’s, PhD students and professional industrial psychology interns.
• Participate in academic administration, including setting and marking examinations, recording marks and handling student complaints.
• Serve on departmental and university committees and support strategic initiatives.
• Develop collaborative relationships with research bodies, civil society, government, industry and professional organisations.
• Contribute to curriculum development within the faculty.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (NQF Level 10) in Industrial Psychology, Human Resource Management or an equivalent qualification combined with a Master’s in Industrial Psychology.
• Proven record of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• Demonstrated research output and national recognition as a specialist expert.
• Experience presenting papers or posters at national scholarly conferences.
• Relevant academic qualifications accredited by SAQA (for foreign degrees).
