Reliability Engineer – Oil & Gas Asset Management

About the role
Pragma is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support a major client in the oil and gas sector, focusing on retail fuel stations. The role involves applying asset management best practices and reliability engineering techniques to optimise the client’s operations.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and implement improvements to the client’s asset management system using structured problem‑solving methods.
- Analyse performance data, failure trends and maintenance history to prioritise improvement actions.
- Develop reports, dashboards and recommendations that drive better asset performance.
- Lead or support root‑cause investigations and ensure corrective actions are applied.
- Review and optimise preventive maintenance strategies, asset care plans and lifecycle costs.
- Enhance maintenance processes, data quality, failure coding and CMMS reporting.
- Provide ad‑hoc technical support, training and project assistance to the client and internal teams.
Required profile
- Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering (BEng, BScEng, BTech – industrial, mechanical, chemical or electrical).
- Minimum five years of practical experience as a reliability engineer.
- Strong knowledge of asset management and reliability engineering principles.
- Experience with retail fuel station maintenance is advantageous.
Required skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
