Multiple permanent positions at Thembisile Hani Local Municipality

About the role

The municipality is recruiting for a range of permanent positions across Corporate Services, Technical Services (Water & Sanitation), Roads and Economic Development. Roles include senior human resources officer, laboratory assistant, water‑treatment technician and ward committee coordinator. Successful candidates will support service delivery, ensure compliance with municipal legislation and contribute to safe water and infrastructure management.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect pump stations, perform routine valve operations and conduct hydrological analysis on drinking water.
• Prepare test reagents, manage laboratory information systems (LIMS) and generate quality reports.
• Supervise and train staff, conduct site visits and verify field data on effluents, groundwater and sewage.
• Coordinate ward committee activities, monitor storm‑water networks and assist with procurement of chemicals and consumables.

Required profile

• Relevant National Diploma or degree (Engineering, Human Resources, Administration or related field).
• 3‑8 years of relevant experience depending on the position.
• Valid driver’s licence (code B/8) and computer literacy (MS Office).
• Knowledge of municipal legislation, ISO 17025 and Good Laboratory Practices.
