Maintenance Storeman / Handyman

About the role

This full‑time position supports a busy hospitality environment by managing the maintenance store and ensuring that all stock levels are accurate and readily available. The successful candidate will combine strong organisational skills with hands‑on experience in inventory control and basic maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Organise and maintain the maintenance store so that items are stored correctly and are easy to locate.
• Issue stock to internal departments and handle related errands.
• Maintain accurate stock records, update inventory control systems and participate in monthly stock counts.
• Identify and report discrepancies, shortages, damaged or obsolete items.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with optimisation initiatives.
• Process invoices, quotations and supporting documentation.
• Source materials and obtain supplier quotations when required.
• Support housekeeping, cleanliness and safety within the store.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• 2–3 years’ experience in a hospitality store, warehouse, receiving or logistics environment.
• Sound knowledge of stock control, inventory management and FIFO principles.
• Knowledge of electrical and plumbing materials.
• Ability to source materials and compare supplier quotations.
• Physically fit and able to handle stock.
