Hospitality Housekeeping Manager

About the role

Our client, a private luxury bio‑reserve in the Klein Karoo, is looking for an experienced Housekeeping Manager to lead the housekeeping and laundry operations for its exclusive five‑star guest cottages. This permanent, live‑in role requires a meticulous professional who can maintain exceptional standards, develop an inexperienced team, and ensure every guest experience reflects true luxury.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of housekeeping standards across all guest cottages and public areas.
• Conduct regular and unannounced inspections, sign off arrivals, and continuously improve SOPs and checklists.
• Lead, motivate, and train a team of 5‑8 housekeeping and laundry staff, using hands‑on demonstration and a training matrix.
• Oversee personalised welcome set‑ups, turndown services, and guest‑specific housekeeping preferences.
• Manage laundry operations, linen inventory, and housekeeping stock within budget constraints.
• Identify recurring faults, implement corrective actions, and develop future supervisors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in housekeeping management within luxury or boutique hospitality settings.
• Strong eye for detail and ability to maintain five‑star standards consistently.
• Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills, especially with inexperienced teams.
• Excellent organisational abilities and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
