Lodge Manager – 5 Star Resort in KwaZulu Natal

About the role

The Lodge Manager will lead day‑to‑day operations of a 5‑star lodge in KwaZulu Natal, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational efficiency, and compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all lodge functions, from guest relations to maintenance and marketing.
• Supervise, train and motivate staff to maintain high service standards.
• Manage budgeting, cost control, revenue optimisation and financial reporting.
• Develop and enforce operational policies in line with organisational and local regulations.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance throughout the property.
• Monitor guest feedback, resolve issues promptly and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with suppliers and service providers to secure quality and cost‑effective solutions.
• Lead marketing initiatives and liaise with travel agencies and tour operators.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Tourism or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration or similar (advantageous).
• Minimum five years’ experience managing a lodge or hotel, preferably a 5‑star property in South Africa.
• Proven leadership experience with a track record of delivering exceptional guest service.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety standards applicable to lodge operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
