About the role
North-West University is seeking two qualified individuals to join its Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences as Lecturers in Computer Science. The successful candidates will contribute to teaching, supervise postgraduate research, and advance scholarly work within the department.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate Computer Science modules.
- Mentor honours and master’s students on projects and dissertations.
- Design, implement and evaluate teaching‑learning programmes.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research, publish in high‑impact venues and secure research funding.
- Engage with industry and community partners on subject‑related projects.
Required profile
- Master’s degree (NQF level 9) in Computer Sciences or Information Technology.
- Minimum two years of university‑level teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise honours or master’s research projects (preferred).
- Evidence of research activity in Computer Science (preferred).
- Professional membership in relevant IT/CS societies (preferred).
