BI Data Analyst

About the role

Absa is looking for a BI Data Analyst to turn raw data into actionable insights that support strategic decision‑making across the organisation. The role focuses on environmental sustainability reporting, sales performance analytics and data governance, ensuring high‑quality information for stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate collection, validation and reporting of environmental sustainability metrics such as energy, water and waste usage, and develop automated reports and dashboards.
• Generate value‑add insights by analysing management information, supporting sales initiatives, building business cases for new products and defining KPIs.
• Maintain data governance by performing monthly quality checks, trend analysis and audit‑trail documentation, and escalating any data‑quality issues.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives, present findings, gather feedback and act as a consultant for data‑driven decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Data Analyst or Business Intelligence role, preferably within financial services or sustainability reporting.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems proactively and ensure data integrity.
