Head of Tax – Advisory and New Markets

About the role

The Head of Tax – Advisory and New Markets supports the Tax Director by delivering forward‑looking, commercially focused tax advice that enables business growth while managing tax risk. The role works across new markets, products, and complex initiatives, ensuring tax considerations are embedded early in decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tax advisory support for market entry, geographic expansion, and new business initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
• Partner with Strategy, Legal, Finance, Commercial, Treasury, and Operations teams to embed tax input into planning and execution.
• Advise on legal entity structuring, operating models, and value‑chain design, assessing risks such as permanent establishment and cross‑border exposure.
• Assess corporate income tax, withholding tax, indirect tax, and other cross‑border implications for mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, funding arrangements, intra‑group transactions, and exits.
• Identify and evaluate tax incentives, exemptions, concessions, and special regimes applicable to new markets or investments.
• Identify emerging tax risks linked to new products, markets, or operating models and provide technical input on complex interpretative issues.
• Support the Tax Director with impact assessments and recommendations on complex tax matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering tax advisory support for market entry and geographic expansion.
• Ability to translate complex tax rules into clear, commercially practical guidance for non‑tax stakeholders.
• Experience advising on legal entity structuring, operating models, and cross‑border tax exposure.
• Strong knowledge of corporate income tax, withholding tax, indirect tax, and related cross‑border implications.
• Familiarity with tax incentives, exemptions, and special regimes in multiple jurisdictions.
• Capability to identify emerging tax risks and provide technical input on complex issues.
