Head of Finance

About the role

The Head of Finance will partner with executive leadership to steer financial strategy within a leading manufacturing organisation. This senior position combines strategic decision‑making with strong governance, compliance and operational oversight in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the finance function, ensuring accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and performance analysis processes.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team and key stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, tax and governance requirements.
• Identify and mitigate financial, operational and business risks.
• Support commercial decision‑making through detailed financial analysis and business insights.
• Partner with operational teams to improve efficiencies, profitability and overall performance.
• Oversee cash‑flow management, working capital optimisation and financial controls.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification is essential.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence strategic business decisions.
• Comprehensive understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and performance management.
• Experience in corporate governance, risk management and compliance.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing finance teams.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems.
• Strong Excel skills.
