Financial Manager / Accountant – Manufacturing (Pretoria East)

About the role

Our well‑established manufacturing client is seeking an Afrikaans‑speaking Financial Manager / Accountant who can go beyond routine bookkeeping. The role requires a commercially minded professional who can interpret numbers, identify issues and deliver meaningful financial insight to management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full accounting function across multiple entities, including month‑end close and audit preparation.
• Manage a finance team of approximately eight staff, overseeing debtors, creditors and payroll.
• Control cash‑flow, forecasting, budgeting and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Oversee VAT, PAYE, SARS compliance and general ledger management.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and support strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Minimum 10‑15 years of solid accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or a similar operational environment.
• Professional designation such as AGA(SA) or CA(SA) is advantageous.
• Fluent Afrikaans speaker able to communicate effectively with operational teams.
• Proven people‑management skills, capable of setting expectations and holding staff accountable.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Pastel Evolution accounting software.
