Financial Administration Controller – Municipal Role

About the role

Beaufort West Municipality is seeking a Controller for Financial Administration to oversee the municipality’s financial processes and ensure compliance with budgeting and reporting standards. The role involves managing cash flow, preparing financial statements and supporting strategic financial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financial administration, including budgeting, cash‑flow management and bank reconciliation.
• Prepare and analyse budget and financial reports, financial statements and costings.
• Maintain accurate record keeping and oversee unallocated accounts.
• Oversee procurement processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Ensure effective communication and reporting to senior management and other departments.
• Perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• 3‑year tertiary qualification (National Diploma or BCom) with a focus on financial accounting.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in financial administration.
• Driver’s licence (Code B) and proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
