Field Service Engineer – KwaZulu-Natal

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer you will deliver on‑site technical service to ensure our customers’ industrial power tools operate safely and reliably. You will join the Customer Center Service team in Durban and report to the Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and ad‑hoc visits to inspect, service, troubleshoot and repair electronic and pneumatic handheld and fixtured tools.
• Carry out installations, ensure safety compliance and document all activities.
• Act as the on‑site contact, providing recommendations and addressing customer needs promptly.
• Provide technical support during breakdowns, both over the phone and on site.
• Maintain accurate records, perform calibrations and preventive‑maintenance tasks according to laboratory and ISO procedures.
• Plan, manage and execute equipment installations at customer premises.
• Prepare written reports on repairs, incidents and provide feedback on equipment usage.
• Collaborate with sales representatives and customers to resolve technical issues.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong sense of ownership and focus on delivering value‑added solutions.
• Highly motivated, proactive and well‑organized self‑starter.
• Flexibility to respond to emergency call‑outs.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Engineering Diploma/Degree or Certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Required skills

• Industrial power tool repair and maintenance.
• Electronic and pneumatic tool troubleshooting.
• Tool calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of ISO safety and documentation procedures.
