Controller – Financial Administration (Permanent)

About the role

The Municipality of Beaufort West is seeking a qualified Controller to lead its financial administration function. This permanent position is responsible for overseeing budgeting, reporting, cash‑flow management and ensuring compliance with municipal financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financial administration, budgeting and preparation of financial reports.
• Perform bank reconciliations, handle unallocated accounts and maintain accurate record keeping.
• Control cash‑flow, oversee cash management and produce financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with procurement, costing and financial reporting standards.
• Monitor budget control and support cash‑flow forecasting.
• Communicate financial information to internal stakeholders and support decision‑making.
• Undertake any other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Three‑year tertiary qualification in finance or accounting (National Diploma or BCom with finance focus).
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in financial administration.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Valid Code B driver’s licence.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
