About the role
The Controller of Budget & Financial Reporting will oversee the financial management services of the Directorate of Financial Services. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the punctual and accurate provision of financial information, effective budget control and cash‑flow management. This is achieved by implementing and monitoring the municipality’s financial reporting policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Control budgets and monitor cash flow.
- Prepare and present financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Timely preparation of financial reports.
Required profile
- Relevant three‑year tertiary qualification (National Diploma or BCom in Financial Accounting).
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Computer literacy with MS Office.
- Proficiency in at least two official languages of the Western Cape.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- General proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
