Technical Sales Representative

About the role

We are seeking a results‑driven Technical Sales Representative to join a dynamic commercial team focused on the engineering and manufacturing sectors across South Africa. The role involves driving revenue growth, managing key industrial accounts, and expanding market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within engineering and manufacturing industries.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with decision‑makers, engineers, and procurement managers.
• Deliver technical presentations and tailor product or service solutions to client needs.
• Prepare accurate commercial proposals, formal tenders, and quotations.
• Manage sales pipelines, forecast quarterly revenue, and consistently meet or exceed targets.
• Gather market intelligence, monitor competitor activity, and spot emerging industry trends.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of proven sales experience in engineering, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Post‑matric qualification in Sales, Marketing, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field (advantageous).
• Valid South African Code 8 (EB) driver’s licence and willingness to travel regionally.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Afrikaans or an indigenous language is a plus.

Required skills

• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes.
