External Sales Consultant - Building & Hardware

About the role

We are a well‑established wholesaler and specification company seeking an experienced External Sales Consultant to manage and expand our building and hardware product portfolio. The role involves nurturing existing retail customers and generating new business across architects, contractors, and installers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and grow a well‑established retail customer base through relationship management and excellent service.
• Take over existing projects and add new projects to the sales pipeline.
• Visit architects, construction firms, retailers and installers to promote product ranges.
• Prepare comprehensive call reports using our CRM system.
• Deliver product presentations and technical support to building professionals.
• Coordinate with internal sales, admin and procurement teams to ensure timely order fulfilment.
• Achieve assigned sales targets and meet company sales objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the hardware or building industry, preferably calling on architects, engineers and contractors.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
• Self‑motivated, resilient and capable of effective time management.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.
• Clear criminal and work history.
