Senior Recruiter / Talent Acquisition Specialist

About the role

Career Start is looking for a proactive Talent Acquisition Specialist / Senior Recruiter to join its internal operations team. The role suits a self-directed professional who enjoys sourcing top talent, building strong candidate pipelines and delivering a smooth recruitment experience. It is based in Cape Town and is paid R18,000 to R20,000 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment: job postings, active sourcing, resume screening, interviewing and shortlisting.
• Sourcing and headhunting through direct outreach, job boards, social channels and professional networks.
• Work with hiring managers to define roles, set timelines and match candidates to business needs.
• Run screening calls, competency-based interviews and secondary assessments, and give constructive feedback.
• Use recruitment platforms and ATS software to track candidates, keep talent databases accurate and close open requisitions.

Required profile

• Track record of running full-cycle recruitment independently and delivering quality hires on time.
• Understanding of candidate evaluation, job matching, reference checks and the employment market.
• Emotional intelligence, ethics and clear communication; able to handle sensitive salary data and confidential records.
• Organised, proactive and able to work independently across several open requisitions.
