About the role
The Western Cape Department of the Premier is recruiting a permanent Human Resource Clerk for Appointments and Compensation (DOTP 109/2026, WCG261006-5). It is an ordinary clerk vacancy, not an internship, based in Cape Town. The advertised salary is R237,453 to R279,708 per year, level 5.
Key responsibilities
- Administer appointments and payroll matters
- Issue employment contracts and appointment letters
- Maintain personnel records and appointments databases
- Administer acting allowances and personnel suitability checks
Required profile
- Grade 12 or equivalent; no compulsory years of experience stated
- Proven Microsoft Office computer literacy
- Understanding of public-service HR and labour legislation
- Data-capturing ability
- Written and verbal communication, planning and organising skills
