About the role
The Senior Accountant – Expenditure will manage key performance and result indicators for the Expenditure section of the Directorate of Financial Services. The role ensures compliance with financial reporting policies, contributes to long‑term financial planning and oversees creditor account processes.
Key responsibilities
- Manage performance indicators for the Expenditure section and ensure compliance with financial reporting policies.
- Direct and execute accounting procedures related to creditor accounts, including handling enquiries and processing payments.
- Monitor personnel performance, productivity and discipline within the team.
Required profile
- National Diploma or B.Com with a major in financial accounting (3‑year tertiary qualification).
- 5–8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in at least two official languages of the Western Cape and a valid driver’s licence.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- General computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite.
