Payroll Specialist

About the role

Our client, a leading Global Business Solutions organisation, is seeking a detail‑oriented Payroll Specialist to join the Client Services team in Durban. The role is office‑based and involves processing payroll for an assigned portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll updates for assigned clients according to payroll cycles and client requirements.
• Maintain accurate employee records, including salary changes, tax elections, deductions and terminations.
• Import, audit and process time‑and‑attendance files and manual payroll transactions.
• Generate payroll and operational reports and keep daily status reports up to date.
• Respond to payroll‑related queries, resolve issues and escalate complex matters.
• Upload and maintain employee documentation while ensuring data‑protection compliance.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or higher; tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field is advantageous.
• 1–3 years of payroll experience preferred; fresh graduates with relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
