Talent Officer – Talent Acquisition

About the role

The Talent Officer – Talent Acquisition will lead MANCOSA’s employability initiatives by building a pipeline of work‑ready students and alumni and forging corporate partnerships. Based in Durban, the role supports the Career Centre and the Employability team to match talent with vacancy opportunities across local and international organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, negotiate and develop corporate partnerships with companies in diverse industries.
• Source, advertise and manage vacancies on job boards, social media, student/alumni platforms and the internal applicant tracking system.
• Screen candidates, conduct reference checks and shortlist applicants for interview.
• Prepare students and alumni for placement through work‑readiness modules, CV writing and interview coaching.
• Maintain up‑to‑date recruitment platforms, track placement progress and produce weekly/monthly KPI reports.
• Collaborate with marketing to create campaigns promoting placement opportunities.
• Host virtual and in‑person work‑readiness sessions and represent MANCOSA at events such as bootcamps and graduations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in recruitment or a related role.
• At least two (2) years’ experience working in a recruitment agency.
• Proven ability to develop and sustain corporate relationships.
• Strong organisational and reporting skills.

• Experience with an Applicant Tracking System.
