Payroll Manager – High‑Volume Multi‑Entity Payroll

About the role

Network Contracting Solutions is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead its payroll function. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end administration of a high‑volume, multi‑entity payroll covering over 1,500 employees.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly payroll processing across multiple entities and 1,500+ staff.
• Lead, allocate work, and develop a team of Payroll Officers.
• Act as PaySpace Super User – configure system, manage parameters, access controls and rules.
• Review payroll inputs such as new hires, salary changes, variable pay, clock‑in data and terminations.
• Perform reconciliations, prepare management and financial reports, and manage payroll payment processes.
• Submit SARS EMP201, EMP501 and IRP5 filings; handle UIF, COIDA/WCA, bargaining council and provident‑fund submissions.
• Register new entities with statutory bodies and ensure compliance with South African payroll legislation.
• Maintain payroll controls and drive process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Payroll, Accounting, Finance or Human Resources (advantageous).
• Minimum 8 years of payroll experience, including 5 years in a management or team‑lead role.
• Proven track record managing high‑volume, multi‑entity payrolls of 1,500+ employees.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• High level of confidentiality and integrity when handling payroll data.

Required skills

• Advanced PaySpace – Super User experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data matching, reconciliations).
• Proficiency with SARS eFiling/EasyFile, including EMP201 and EMP501 submissions.
