About the role

The Internal Audit Internship Programme is a 24‑month capacity‑building initiative funded by the National Treasury. It offers recent graduates the chance to gain practical experience in municipal finance, accounting and supply‑chain management within Hantam Municipality.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing municipal accounting practices and budgetary reforms.
• Participate in training on financial and supply‑chain management processes.
• Perform reconciliations and conduct financial analysis.
• Collect and process financial data electronically.

Required profile

• Three‑year Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Internal Auditing or Risk Management.
• Computer literacy with MS Office applications.
• Age between 18 and 35 years.
• Proficiency in at least two official Northern Cape languages (Afrikaans, English, Xhosa).
• Strong attention to detail, responsibility and good interpersonal communication.
• Basic knowledge of monthly reconciliations and financial & supply‑chain processes.

What we offer

• Annual all‑inclusive salary of R 100 000.
• Fixed‑term 24‑month contract based in Calvinia.
