HR Officer

About the role

Komatsu is seeking an HR Officer for a five‑month fixed‑term contract in Wadeville, Germiston, Gauteng. The role is focused on supporting HR functions within a heavy engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment from advertising to reference checks.
• Support employees, supervisors and management.
• Manage onboarding and HR documentation.
• Prepare employment contracts and offer letters.
• Process employee transfers and changes.
• Maintain confidential, audit‑ready HR records.
• Prepare HR reports and metrics.
• Submit payroll inputs and resolve queries.
• Ensure compliance with labour legislation and POPIA.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• At least 3 years’ HR experience in heavy engineering.
• Knowledge of South African labour legislation.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
