Learning and Development Practitioner

About the role

Takealot Group is looking for a Learning and Development Practitioner to join its L&D team in Cape Town. Reporting to the Head of Learning and Development, you will design, deliver and evaluate learning programmes that support the company’s strategic goals and enhance employee capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative training solutions, curricula and materials aligned with business needs.
• Facilitate learning experiences through virtual, in‑person and blended formats, creating an inclusive environment.
• Conduct needs analyses to identify skills gaps and inform targeted interventions.
• Manage end‑to‑end L&D projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
• Support talent development programmes for interns and graduates, providing mentorship and coaching.
• Collaborate with HR, leadership and business units to align learning initiatives with organisational objectives.
• Measure training impact, ROI and maintain accurate records in the Learning Management System.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Organisational Psychology, HR Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in Learning and Development, instructional design or training delivery.
• Strong analytical and project‑management abilities with a data‑driven decision‑making approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms.
