Fleet & Safety Supervisor

About the role

The Fleet & Safety Supervisor ensures that all company vehicles and equipment operate safely, legally, and efficiently. This role combines on‑ground technical oversight with operational safety management to protect stakeholders and maintain compliance with relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee fleet operations across all sites, including forklifts, trucks, trailers, and other equipment.
• Conduct daily inspections to verify compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and Road Traffic Act.
• Maintain and archive fleet records, licensing history, maintenance job cards, and pre‑trip inspection documents.
• Manage internal self‑audits, analyse findings, and drive corrective actions.
• Implement and sustain DPO and VPO safety and maintenance pillars through regular assessments and zone audits.
• Provide on‑site coaching on OHS requirements and support emergency response when needed.
• Report daily fleet availability and performance metrics to senior management.
• Coordinate master data updates with the Regional Fleet Manager and verify asset information.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the OHS Act (1993) and Road Traffic Act.
• Experience in fleet and safety management within a logistics or industrial environment.
• Ability to conduct audits, analyse data, and implement corrective measures.
• Availability to respond to emergencies and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
