About the role
The municipality is seeking a Deputy Director of Financial Services to support the Chief Financial Officer. The role provides strategic, operational and administrative leadership over the municipality’s financial affairs, ensuring compliance with legislation and sound financial governance.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and present annual financial statements and manage financial reporting.
- Coordinate external audit processes and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Lead budgeting, expenditure management and financial analysis to monitor sustainability.
- Oversee asset management, risk management and internal control frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with municipal financial legislation such as MSA and MFMA.
Required profile
- National Diploma or BCom with a major in financial accounting (3‑year tertiary qualification).
- Minimum of eight years of relevant financial experience, including management of financial information.
- Strong knowledge of local government financial legislation (MSA, MFMA) and financial governance.
