Banqueting Manager – Hospitality & Events

Fancourt, South Africa’s premier golfing and leisure destination, is seeking a dynamic Banqueting Manager to lead its conference and event operations. The role combines guest‑centric service with strong financial oversight to uphold world‑class standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and facilitate all conference and banqueting events, ensuring client satisfaction at every stage.
• Oversee cost management, including revenue generation, cost control, float checks, stock costs, budgeting assistance and maximising facility usage.
• Handle administration tasks such as SAP reporting, incident logging and operational excellence (OE) reporting.
• Coordinate operational management activities: customer liaison, execution of functions, preparation of function sheets, staff delegation and control.
• Lead people management initiatives: motivate staff, ensure adequate staffing levels, manage industrial relations and conduct performance appraisals.
• Control stock levels for OE and beverage inventories, maintain PARR levels and implement loss‑reduction strategies.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Computer literate with MS Office.
• At least 2 years’ experience in Food & Beverage or Banqueting & Events Management within a 4‑star or 5‑star environment.
• Strong communication skills, guest‑centric attitude and solid financial acumen.
• Diploma in Hospitality (preferred).
