Senior Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Operations Manager to lead a popular steakhouse in the Southern Suburbs of Pretoria. The role involves overseeing operational and financial performance to ensure exceptional customer experiences and sustainable profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Efficiently manage and control budgets and operating costs while maintaining food costs within agreed targets.
• Drive turnover and increase customer foot count through effective marketing initiatives and outstanding service.
• Deliver an exceptional guest experience and handle customer complaints professionally.
• Recruit, train, develop and manage staff at all levels, focusing on morale and retention.
• Manage all administrative requirements associated with running the restaurant.
• Monitor operational performance and implement improvements where necessary.
• Communicate effectively with staff, customers and owners, taking ownership of the business with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior restaurant management role and 10+ years in the restaurant industry.
• Proven experience in budget management, cost control and achieving food cost targets.
• Strong track record in staff leadership, development and retention.
• Demonstrated ability to grow turnover and improve customer foot count.
• Excellent customer service and complaint‑resolution skills.
• Goal‑driven, self‑motivated and hands‑on with strong administration, organisational and communication abilities.
• At least two contactable references and written references.
