Accountant – Post-Articles Role in Johannesburg

About the role

This position is ideal for an accountant who has completed their articles and is looking to broaden commercial experience within a supportive finance team. You will work on a variety of accounting tasks while developing your professional skills in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Perform balance sheet, bank and general ledger reconciliations
• Process journals, accruals and month‑end adjustments
• Assist with tax calculations and statutory submissions
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Prepare audit schedules and assist external auditors
• Analyse financial information and investigate variances
• Monitor compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
• Contribute to process improvements and finance projects
• Provide financial support to management and other departments

Required profile

• BCom Accounting or related qualification (essential)
• SAIPA or SAICA membership (required)
• Approximately one year post‑articles experience (advantageous)
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
• Tax experience (advantageous)
