Accountant – On‑site Finance Lead for High‑Turnover Restaurant

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded Accountant to become the on‑site finance lead for a busy, high‑turnover restaurant operation. You will own financial controls, ensure reporting accuracy and partner closely with operational teams to drive cost discipline and cash handling excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with monthly and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, analysing food cost, labour cost and profitability.
• Manage stock control including counts, reconciliations and variance investigations.
• Oversee supplier invoicing, reconcile accounts, process payments and negotiate costs.
• Perform daily cash and bank reconciliations across POS and deposits.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and support margin improvement initiatives.
• Maintain financial records, creditors, debtors and compliance requirements.
• Provide financial insights to operations for daily decision‑making.
• Enforce strong controls across cash, stock and operational processes.
• Ensure accuracy across POS, stock and accounting systems and improve processes where needed.

Required profile

• Finance‑related degree (e.g., Accounting, Finance).
• Experience in a full accounting function within a food & beverage environment (non‑negotiable).
