Accountant – 3‑Month Contract (Johannesburg)

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Accountant for a three‑month contract with a small consulting firm in the Northy area of Johannesburg. The role offers the chance to work closely with business partners and the finance team, applying out‑of‑the‑box thinking to support core accounting functions.
Key responsibilities
- Process journal entries accurately for month‑end and year‑end reporting.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
- Resolve reconciling items promptly.
- Oversee full payroll processing.
- Manage fixed assets and maintain the pre‑payments schedule.
Required profile
- BCom degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Strong understanding of IFRS accounting principles.
- Experience preparing monthly reports, reconciliations, and year‑end financial statements.
Required skills
- SAP exposure.
