Transport Assistant

About the role

The Transport Assistant ensures the Premier fleet is available, road‑worthy, cost‑effective and on time each day. Working closely with the Transport Technical Assistant, the role handles vehicle movements, inspections, refuelling and minor repairs to keep operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Report all vehicle defects to the Transport Asset Coordinator (TAC).
• Maintain a clean and tidy workshop bay and storeroom before leaving.
• Collect and deliver vehicles to and from suppliers.
• Report accidents and damages to TAC promptly.
• Remove pre‑ and post‑trip inspection sheets from trucks and file them in the store organizer.
• Assist with breakdowns after hours when required.
• Refuel all vehicles daily.
• Support the Transport Technical Assistant with minor repairs and breakdowns.

Required profile

• Matric or equivalent qualification.
• Valid driver’s licence – C1 (EC1 is an advantage).
• At least 2 years of fleet experience.
• Technical background with strong attention to detail.
• Good communication, numerical ability, organising and planning skills.
• Basic computer skills.
