Technical Manager – Operating Company (Road Freight)

About the role

The Technical Manager will lead the vehicle repair and maintenance value chain for an operating company within DP World’s road freight business. You will develop and execute strategies that drive high performance, client satisfaction, risk reduction and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement corporate governance and compliance policies to manage risk liabilities.
• Analyse and report on performance trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies.
• Develop and execute people capacity plans aligned with performance objectives.
• Lead initiatives that enhance customer service excellence.
• Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, learning & development, performance management, reward, recognition and employee relations.
• Create an engaging work climate that reflects the employee value proposition.
• Plan practice changes, set delivery priorities and allocate resources for 1‑2 years.
• Contribute to budgeting, minimise expenditure and manage costs and assets effectively.
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to foster a culture of service excellence.

Required profile

• Honours degree (NQF Level 8) or equivalent.
• Up to 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in operational leadership or specialist roles.
• Advanced knowledge in budgeting and cost management.
• Advanced business and operations management expertise.
• Advanced vehicle maintenance and repair knowledge.
• Advanced people management and development capabilities.
• Proficient understanding of labour‑relations procedures.
