Line-Haul Fleet Controller – Johannesburg

About the role

The company is a trusted leader in South African logistics, delivering reliable and safe freight across the country. They are looking for a Line‑Haul Fleet Controller to manage day‑to‑day fleet operations, optimise routes, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and optimise line‑haul schedules to achieve timely deliveries and maximise resource utilisation.
• Monitor vehicle movements, ensuring adherence to planned routes and schedules.
• Coordinate with dispatchers, workshop staff and branch managers to maintain seamless operations.
• Oversee fleet maintenance, schedule routine services and resolve breakdowns promptly.
• Track fleet utilisation and fuel efficiency, reporting on cost‑saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards and national transport regulations.
• Lead, motivate and manage line‑haul drivers and support staff, fostering strong communication and teamwork.
• Communicate with customers, address service issues, and provide regular performance updates to senior management.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification (non‑negotiable).
• Minimum three years of experience in transport industry, specifically in fleet planning and control.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
