Supply Planning Manager - Mars Snacking

About the role

Mars Snacking in Johannesburg is looking for a Supply Planning Manager. You will ensure product availability through effective production planning, monitor actual production and communicate supply commitments across markets. As a collaborative leader in the Mars Snacking segment, you will manage finished goods, raw materials and packaging inventory and lead and support the Material Planner.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production plans based on market demand, capacity and materials, and monitor actual production against plans to coordinate corrective actions and minimise disruptions.
• Act as the main contact for communicating supply availability, production delays, constraints and delivery timelines to markets.
• Manage finished goods, raw materials and packaging inventory to maximise availability while minimising excess stock, obsolescence and expiry risks, and support the Material Planner with requirements and replenishment.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Procurement, Demand Planning, Warehousing and Commercial teams to resolve supply issues and improve planning processes.
• Monitor key metrics such as production plan adherence, service levels, inventory coverage, material availability and supply plan reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Ideally 5-7 years' experience in supply planning, production planning and inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving and leadership skills.
