Inventory Cycle Counter (M/F)

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, maritime and rail) in Africa and part of the MSC Group, is hiring a permanent Inventory Cycle Counter in Johannesburg. The role supervises inventory accuracy and ensures stock counts are carried out regularly.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all inventory in the warehouse matches the quantities and locations shown in the WMS.
• Carry out cycle counts on a daily basis and ensure they are reported on inventory accuracy.
• Keep first-pick availability by keeping stock locations and quantities correct on the system.
• Monitor stock movement across departments so that movements are recorded in the system.
• Keep stock in locations that optimise picking and material flow, and run regular ABC analysis.
• Match customer system data with the Materials Management WMS and report discrepancies.
• Take action to minimise inventory losses and handle claims investigations and resolutions.
• Supervise 999 reports for picking differences.

Required profile

• Matric preferred.
• 3 years' experience in supply chain, warehouse or related fields.
• Tertiary education in logistics or supply chain management is an advantage.

Required skills

• WMS (SAP) experience is an advantage.
• Training in MS Office and other industry-related courses is an advantage.
