Strategy Manager – CEO Office

About the role

The Strategy Manager will lead strategy planning, execution and performance monitoring within the CEO’s Office, ensuring alignment with government mandates and best practices. The role involves advising business units, facilitating strategic sessions and reporting on corporate performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform annual reviews of architecture and systems supporting strategy.
• Monitor the quality of planning, execution and feedback processes, linking them in a closed‑loop system.
• Maintain the strategy execution system and track continuous alignment with government mandates and best practices.
• Document key processes and standardise terminology used in strategy, balanced scorecard and performance measurement.
• Provide advisory support to business units on strategy review and development.
• Facilitate annual strategy planning sessions and translate updated strategy into objectives, scorecards and initiatives.
• Consolidate the corporate strategy map and scorecard, and cascade them through hierarchical management levels.
• Present corporate strategy to the board for review, alignment and approval.
• Compile the integrated corporate business plan and prescribe processes for performance data collection and reporting.
• Analyse, review and report corporate performance to the Executive and Board, recommending corrective actions where gaps exist.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in business management, leadership or administration (NQF Level 9).
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years at management level and 3 years in middle‑management or supervisory roles.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Experience in the public‑sector environment is an added advantage.
