About the role

This specialist position within the Global Markets division of a major financial services institution in Johannesburg focuses on the lifecycle of structured and complex trades across diverse asset classes. You will verify trade accuracy, ensure proper booking and matching, and support settlement, acting as a control point in the financial value chain. The role also involves analysing workflows, identifying bottlenecks and recommending improvements, and bridging trading desks, technology teams and finance departments.

Key responsibilities

• Execute standard and non-standard procedures to ensure the integrity of trade data.
• Manage allocation, matching and settlement of complex trading products.
• Resolve operational exceptions and answer queries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyse the impact of trades on risk metrics and P&L statements.
• Streamline business processes with cross-functional teams and ensure trade administration follows internal governance and global financial standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or Mathematical Sciences.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Trade Support Operations within a Global Markets environment.
• Deep understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle and practical knowledge of pricing and risk management principles.
• Ability to work under pressure, communicate complex information clearly and challenge existing processes.
