Shift Miller Assistant

About the role

The Shift Miller Assistant supports daily milling operations in a safe, efficient and hygienic environment. Working on rotating shifts, you will assist with production, quality control, housekeeping and maintenance activities to keep the plant running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Sample wheat and flour, label and submit samples for laboratory testing, and ensure traceability.
• Report any infestation, leakages, contamination or abnormal smells.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, perform inspections and clean plant equipment.
• Assist with sieve making, material handling, bin dipping, stock monitoring and general production duties.
• Support daily milling operations, production shutdowns and changeovers.
• Help maintenance teams identify equipment faults and carry out autonomous maintenance tasks.
• Provide relief for the bin crew and support intake activities as needed.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric (Code B) qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year operational or manufacturing experience; experience in milling or food manufacturing is advantageous.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, public holidays and overtime.
• Ability to follow food safety and hygiene standards.
