Senior Service Technician

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Service Technician to join Communicate Engineering in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and troubleshooting a range of industrial equipment at customer sites, providing technical support and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair equipment on-site at client locations.
• Conduct fault finding, diagnostics and provide technical support.
• Assist with equipment refurbishments and perform welding or fabrication tasks as required.
• Complete maintenance reports, documentation and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Work independently, manage field service schedules and participate in standby or overtime duties.
• Share knowledge with team members and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in service or maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Red Seal Millwright qualification.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
• South African residency or valid work permit.

Required skills

• Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical system knowledge.
• Fault finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams.
• Welding and fabrication experience (advantageous).
