Senior QA Test Engineer – Payments

About the role

We are looking for a Senior QA Test Engineer with deep expertise in payments and card systems. You will ensure high‑quality delivery of real‑time payment, digital banking and card platforms by leading testing activities across API, UI and automation layers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own end‑to‑end testing strategy for real‑time transactions, debit checks, reversals, VAS, clearing and settlement.
• Validate ISO 20022 messaging (PACS, PAIN, CAMT) and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Execute functional and automated tests for REST/SOAP APIs using Postman/Swagger and for mobile/web UI using Selenium, Karate or BDD frameworks.
• Design test data, including synthetic data, to support linked card‑payment flows.
• Lead daily stand‑ups, test progress reviews, defect triage and retrospectives.
• Coordinate release readiness, define entry/exit criteria and provide Go/No‑Go recommendations.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, operations, fraud, architecture and third‑party vendors to unblock delivery impediments.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in payments, card systems and end‑to‑end transaction lifecycles.
• Strong background in Agile delivery and release testing.
• Proven ability to mentor junior testers and promote a quality‑first culture.

Required skills

• API testing with Postman and Swagger.
• UI automation using Selenium, Karate or BDD frameworks.
• ISO 20022 message formats (PACS, PAIN, CAMT).
• Payment processing knowledge (RTC, RPP, ACH, RTGS, NPS).
• Test data design and synthetic data generation.
• Agile methodologies and test environment management.
