Senior Millwright

About the role

The Senior Millwright will lead the shift maintenance team in a fast‑paced beverage/FMCG plant, ensuring safe, continuous, and efficient operation of bottling, packaging and processing equipment. You will work closely with the shift production manager to minimise downtime and support production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on bottling, packaging and processing machinery.
• Rebuild machines during shutdowns, plan spare parts usage and conduct post‑mortems for continuous improvement.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults on automated equipment.
• Perform root‑cause analysis (RCA) and share findings to prevent recurrence.
• Troubleshoot and adjust PLCs, AC/DC drives, sensors and medium‑voltage (MV) vault systems.
• Install new equipment, modify existing machinery and optimise layout for efficiency.
• Train operators on correct operating procedures and new installations.
• Ensure all work complies with OHSA, HACCP/FSSC 22000 and company quality standards.
• Mentor junior technicians, guide prioritisation and maintain accurate job cards in Shopware.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a beverage or FMCG environment.
• Ability to lead a shift maintenance team and coordinate with production managers.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a focus on safety and quality.

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
• Electrical troubleshooting, including PLCs, AC/DC drives and sensors.
• Pneumatic and hydraulic system maintenance.
• Medium‑voltage (MV) vault systems and MV breaker switching.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
• Installation, commissioning and equipment layout optimisation.
• Root‑cause analysis (RCA) documentation.
• Use of Shopware for job‑card recording.
