Senior Engineer - Mechanical, Data Center

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Senior Engineer – Mechanical, Data Center to join its Enterprise Capabilities office in Centurion, South Africa. The role supports both local and global teams and offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical engineering assignments, ensuring compliance with building codes, standards and statutory processes.
• Develop and coordinate design content, produce BIM/CAD models, perform clash detection and spatial reviews.
• Manage moderately complex projects, prepare technical plans and reports, and act as project leader on medium‑sized projects.
• Build and maintain client relationships, attend meetings as technical support, and contribute to bids and proposals.

Required profile

• BSc Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8+ years of experience in the built environment, registered Professional Engineer with ECSA.
• Experience across HVAC, Wet Services and Fire protection disciplines is advantageous.
