Senior Bookkeeper

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and detail‑oriented Senior Bookkeeper to oversee the full bookkeeping and accounting cycle across multiple entities. The role demands strong technical accounting knowledge, robust financial controls, and the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financial reporting, journals, reconciliations and month‑end processes.
• Review bank, petty cash, credit‑card, debtor and creditor reconciliations.
• Prepare management accounts, audit files and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Handle VAT, EMP201, withholding tax and other SARS submissions.
• Oversee stock reconciliations, stock takes, import costing and related journals.
• Process foreign payments and support import/export administration.
• Maintain fixed‑asset records, intercompany loans and royalty accounting.
• Monitor daily cash flow and investment accounts.
• Approve payments, verify beneficiaries and enforce fraud‑prevention controls.
• Provide backup across cashbook, creditor and debtor functions as needed.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• BCom Accounting or Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Valid South African ID.
• Experience managing multiple entities and complex reconciliations.
• Strong technical accounting and organisational abilities.

What we offer

• Competitive total cash compensation (CTC) ranging from R35 000 to R40 000.
