Group Accountant

About the role

Our client, a finance consultancy based in Johannesburg North, is seeking a qualified CA(SA) with around two years of post‑articles experience to join the finance team as a Group Accountant. The role offers exposure to group reporting, cash management, budgeting, forecasting and executive reporting, working closely with senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and analyse monthly management accounts and group reports.
• Assist with group consolidations, variance analysis and financial commentary.
• Oversee payments, cash management and cash‑flow visibility.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis.
• Monitor working capital and identify cash‑flow risks and opportunities.
• Prepare executive and board reporting packs, including polished financial slides and commentary.
• Perform detailed reconciliations and ensure reporting deadlines and financial controls are maintained.
• Partner with finance and operational teams to improve financial visibility.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and insights to senior management.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification with approximately two years post‑articles experience.
• Strong technical accounting and reporting foundation.
• Exposure to group finance, consolidations, audit or multi‑entity environments.
• Commercially aware, resilient and highly detail‑oriented.
• Hands‑on individual who thrives in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven head‑office environment.

What we offer

• Salary range: R 800 000 – R 900 000 per year.
