Qualified Accountant

About the role

A well‑established consulting firm in Johannesburg seeks a Qualified Accountant with strong tax knowledge. The role offers a hybrid work model – primarily remote with occasional on‑site days each month – and requires the candidate to be based in Johannesburg.

Key responsibilities

• Full‑function accounting for a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Executive‑level client liaison and relationship management.
• Preparation of financial statements, payroll, VAT returns and provisional tax calculations.
• Provide tax services for both individuals and companies.
• Collaborate with a team of bookkeepers across industries such as retail, hospitality, construction and entertainment.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting consultant role.
• Accounting degree or equivalent qualification.
• SAIPA training is advantageous.
• Member of a recognized accounting body (SAIPA, CIBA, IAC or SAICA) able to sign off financial statements.
