Senior Actuarial Analyst - Reserving

About the role

Network Finance, a well‑established South African insurer, is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst focused on reserving. This short‑term position is ideal for a nearly or newly qualified actuary who wants to combine technical expertise with commercial impact in a data‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead reserving analyses and reserve reviews for financial and regulatory reporting.
• Provide actuarial inputs for quarterly and annual financial statements and regulatory submissions.
• Produce reserve movements, claims trend analyses, profitability assessments, and portfolio performance insights.
• Support business planning, forecasting, and capital management initiatives.
• Develop and maintain actuarial models used for reserving and reporting.
• Engage with internal finance, risk, operations, and executive teams, as well as auditors and regulators.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, reserving methodologies, and process efficiencies.
• Contribute to data quality improvement and actuarial data governance activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Actuarial Science or a highly quantitative discipline.
• Nearly qualified or newly qualified actuary (FASSA, FIA, or equivalent).
• Minimum 4 years of actuarial experience in short‑term insurance, with strong exposure to non‑life reserving and financial reporting.
• Experience working in a regulated insurance environment.
